The team at ONA loves to highlight emerging photographers and feature established photographers: it’s less about renown or experience and more about the feelings stirred by the images created. We’re constantly amazed by the incredible variety of photographers who use ONA bags: there’s no standard background, education, subject, inspiration, industry. The only constant is that they’re trying–and usually succeeeding–to tell a story in one captured moment.
Joshua carries the Clarendon in Walnut
Joshua Anderson is a photographer and designer living and working in Houston, Texas. He grew up in a creative environment where he was always encouraged to create. In 2011, Joshua started realizing how important photography was to him and he hasn’t stopped pursuing his passion for it since. He states, “Mobile photography definitely made it easier to get my foot in the door. Most of my inspiration comes from lines and shapes. I love playing with that in my work.” As evidenced in his portfolio, architecture, design and fashion all play a big role in inspiring Joshua's work as well.
JA: It basically all started when I got my hands on my first camera, just a small Casio point-and-shoot. I loved shooting everything and finding ways to get creative with photographs.
JA: Been using the Sony A7 for a few months now. Really in love with this one. I always have my Minolta 50mm with me.
JA: I love working with big spaces and color! Some of my favorite things. Lines, light and forms drive my creativity. Just observing what I see in the world and implementing that into a photograph. Honestly, if I could do a shoot in outer space that would be a dream! Something about outer space really just fascinates me.
JA: I don’t think there is a hardest thing. Photography is tricky at times, but you learn from your mistakes and move on.
JA: I would describe my style as simple, colorful and random but with a pattern.
JA: If you see something you like, take a picture.
ONA: How did you hear about us?
JA: On the web!
