Where ONA Goes: NYFW with Nina Tekwani

Every September, swarms of designers, models, celebrities, and members of the media arrive in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week, congregating at posh Midtown lofts, trendy Chelsea galleries, and Soho runways to preview collections for next spring. The commencement of NYFW also brings dozens, perhaps hundreds, of photographers from around the world to document the latest in runway fashion.

For NYFW this fall (which began last week and concludes this Thursday) we tagged along with Nina Tekwani, a fashion and street style photographer based in Salt Lake City. Nina photographed four shows for the agency AMCONYC this past weekend, including Wear Your Label, Unknown New York, and Black Phumelele. Accompanying her throughout the past several days was her Camps Bay backpack, which stored everything from her Canon gear (including two bodies + four lenses) to her MacBook Pro to her favorite sunglasses.

Nina carries the Camps Bay backpack in smoke.

New York Fashion Week experienced some major changes for SS2016. After five years at Lincoln Center, NYFW decamped for two new locations -- Skylight at Moynihan Station (above) and Skylight Clarkson Square.

The Camps Bay backpack has become a bit of a staple for NYFW photographers in recent years -- in fact, Nina found an ONA twin, fashion photographer Lisa-Marie Hoelstad, at a few shows that she was shooting at. In Nina's words: "Instant friend!"
