Each ONA bag is named after a place that founder Tracy Foster has traveled, all the way from Camps Bay in South Africa (where she came up with the idea for ONA) to her favorite neighborhoods in New York, like Brooklyn and Chelsea. The most recent winner was Jeff McAllister, a writer, portrait photographer, and academic from Vancouver Island. After spending the last six years studying inorganic chemistry in the labs of the University of Victoria he recently embarked on series of trips to study the chemistry between people and the world they inhabit.The main ethos behind his work is that everyone has a story, but not everyone is given voice.Jeff recently travelled to Northwestern Peru with his Astoria Camera and Laptop Messenger Bag, where he spent three weeks shooting images and collecting stories from the people of the Sechura desert.
