Where Our Team Is Shopping For Small Business Saturday

It's Small Business Saturday today in the U.S., a day that's particularly meaningful to ONA as a start-up whose retail partners across over 30 states are predominately small, local businesses. We encourage you to support them and other small businesses in your community today. For "shopping small" inspiration, we asked ONA team members to share where they will be spending their time this weekend in New York and Washington D.C.:

Victoria (Park Slope, NYC)

Ladybird Bakery is the best place in Park Slope for those with a sweet tooth. Their cinnamon buns & maple walnut scones are more than worth the early morning weekend breakfast run! Fonda is a great place for a relaxed Happy Hour, and their guacamole & chips are my favorite in the city. Lion In The Sun is my go-to place in Park Slope for beautiful cards, decorative wrapping paper, and sweet gifts. Community Bookstore offers a wonderful selection of books, and their resident cat is an added bonus. Russo's is full to the brim with delicious Italian food, from fresh pasta to house-made mozzarella, meatballs and humongous subs.

Garry (Manhattan)

Swerve Fitness in Manhattan is my favorite spin studio. Concepts is my favorite sneaker and apparel store with locations in Cambridge, MA and NYC. Petee's Pie Company is hands-down the best pie in NYC, located on the Lower East Side.

Jillian (Washington D.C.)

Salt & Sundry is one of those places where I cant leave empty handed. Whether it's a new throw for the couch or something to outfit our bar cart, this perfectly curated shop has something for everyone. Little Red Fox is my favorite spot for a well-crafted latte and breakfast sandwich. An added bonus is they use the ever popular Ceremony Coffee roasted in Annapolis. Eastern Market is a Capitol Hill institution, and one of the best open air markets around. I love picking up fresh meats, cheeses, and homemade ravioli. The weekend flea market is always a destination for treasures, too!

Elan (Manhattan)

Breads Bakery in Union Square has the best babkas and bourekas. Passavant and Lee is a fine accessores company that mixes the best of New York and London sophistication in one. Fhitting Room is the best workout in NY.

Katie (West Village, NYC)

Three Lives & Company has the best concentration of great, handpicked books of any shop in the city. Terry's West Village Wine & Spirits has an outstanding selection of wine and the owner and staff are incredibly knowledgable, helpful and friendly. Pink Olive is my go-to shop for gifts, stationary, or if I'm just craving a little creative inspiration.

Jess (Manhattan)

Paper Presentation is heaven to the creative- and DIY-minded, perfect for all your paper needs. Barkbox is the go-to for the pet owner; they're headquartered in New York and have fun local events and the best monthly surprises. Spruce & Bond is a luxury wax, laser, and brow salon with a great environment, staff with personality, and amazing results.

Bryan (SoHo, NYC)

Di Palo's Fine Foods in Little Italy and Raffetto's on Houston Street are two great old-school purveyors of Italian staples and imports like fresh pasta, charcuterie, and most importantly cheese. Mimi Cheng's Dumplings was started a few years ago in the East Village by two sisters with their mother's dumpling recipe, and they recently opened a second space on Broome Street. Everything is made fresh and by hand and they have a special seasonal dumpling every month. McNally Jackson Bookstore is a haven in the center of the SoHo bustle (especially during the holidays); big enough to generally find what I'm looking for—or something I wasn't—and small enough that I know where every section is by heart.
